Giant Rock clean-up this Saturday in Landers (5/30)

The second Giant Rock clean-up of 2026 is this Saturday out in Landers.

Blightsites and Positional Projects are putting on the all-volunteer event, which begins Saturday morning at 9AM. They will be sweeping for metal, collecting garbage and removing graffiti from the rock itself as well as the surrounding area.

There will be complimentary pizza and salad at 1:00 PM for all volunteers, too. Desert Region Fire Safe will also be there installing complimentary safety equipment to OHVs from 8am to 1pm, don’t miss out on your opportunity to get free safety gear for you and your ride.

The group will be applying the graffiti-removing substance known as “elephant snot” today beginning at 3PM, if you want to head out early and camp out for an early start on Saturday.

The event is being supported by Leroy Cullen Landscaping and KK Rents with the pressure washers needed to remove graffiti, and the “Elephant Snot” used to help remove the marks is being provided by Gubler Orchids.

You can RSVP here.
