Twentynine Palms TBID board to review funding for tourism-related projects at Thursday meeting (10/22)

The Twentynine Palms Tourism Business Improvement District Advisory Board meets in regular session on Thursday (October 22).

The TBID is expected to approve funding for a number of events proposed for Twentynine Palms. The TBID’s purpose is to increase tourism to Twentynine Palms, and one of their methods is by providing funding for events that would likely bring visitors to the City.

The TBID received six proposals for events between January and June of 2027. Proposals that may move forward at Thursday’s meeting are a satellite event for the upcoming Joshua Tree International Film Festival, a music and arts festival at Freedom Plaza, the returning Desert Rat Convention and the Rock Rumble Royal climbing competition, and an immersive musical theater event put on by Karma Compound.

A proposed comedy festival did not move through the preliminary round of review.

At Thursday’s meeting, the TBID Board is expected to approve funding for some or all of these proposed events.

They will also discuss Board Leadership and subcommittees.

The Twentynine Palms Tourism Business Improvement District Advisory Board meets Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Twentynine Palms City Hall.
