Club of 29 Palms Rotary

Rotary 29 supports local charities and organizes action in our community. Each week we eat lunch together, connect and support each other, and hear from a local business, leader, or thinker in the Morongo Basin. You are invited to join us! We are friendly, and are open to new members from all sectors of our community and beyond, including young people and students.

We are a Club of Rotary District 5330, which serves Riverside and San Bernardino Counties in Southern California.

Flamingo Heights Community Association

Since 1969, the Flamingo Heights Community Center has been the heart of our High Desert neighborhood. For decades, we’ve come together here—to share meals, host events, lend a hand during emergencies, and celebrate the things that make life in Flamingo Heights so unique.

Joshua Tree Village Neighbors

JTVN

Joshua Tree Village Neighbors is a grassroots coalition of residents and supporters dedicated to protecting the beauty, ecology, and character of our desert home. Our current focus is a legal challenge to the proposed LoveMore Ranch — a sprawling 64-unit subdivision crammed onto just 18 acres in the heart of Joshua Tree. We contend that this high-density, gated project is urban sprawl: incompatible with our community’s values and a direct threat to public safety and the environment. If built, it would bring increased traffic accidents, flooding, raw sewage, light pollution, and the destruction of pristine Joshua Tree woodland.

The club also works with Rotary International, which coordinates worldwide programs such as eliminating polio from the entire world. Polio has almost been eradicated world wide in large part from contributions made from the Rotary Foundation. Contributions have also been made to help provide safe drinking water in third world countries.
