Twentynine Palms man arrested for investigation into sexual abuse and false imprisonment

After an injured victim was identified during a routine traffic stop, a man was arrested for investigation into sexual abuse and false imprisonment in Twentynine Palms.

On Sunday (September 13), San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies say they conducted a routine traffic stop on a vehicle in the Morongo Basin. Deputies say a person in the vehicle had visible injuries, and they began an investigation into suspected abuse. The victim was treated for injuries at the scene.

Deputies identified the suspect as Christopher Guillen, 29. They say that Guillen physically restrained the victim at a home in the 73000 block of Desert Trail Drive in Twentynine Palms. Deputies allege that Guillen sexually abused and threatened the restrained victim. Deputies contacted Guillen at the home on Desert Trail and took him into custody without incident.

Christopher Guillen was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery, false imprisonment, assault with intent to rape and damage to a communications device. He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $100,000 bail.
