Town of Yucca Valley seeking community feedback on possible park improvements

The Town of Yucca Valley is inviting residents to help shape the future of two of their community spaces.
The Town is focusing on the next phase of Founders Plaza in Old Town and the revitalization of the Yucca Valley Community Center park. They are seeking feedback from the community to be incorporated into a Town of Yucca Valley grant application for some of the nearly 150 million dollars available from the California Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program.
The community feedback portion of the grant application will give residents an opportunity to share ideas, identify priorities and help guide conceptual designs for future improvements in the two parks. Community feedback will inform planning for park amenities, shade structures, landscaping, recreational features, gathering spaces and other additions that reflect the needs and priorities of the Yucca Valley community.

The Town will be gathering feedback through November 21 through various on-site walkthroughs in early November and at events at the community center such as the Yucca Valley Film Festival and the Morongo basin Veterans Tribute celebration.
Those who can’t make those events can offer their feedback online here.
The community visioning initiative will culminate in a design reveal on Saturday, Dec. 5, during the Town’s Holiday Celebration at the Yucca Valley Community Center. The event will offer an opportunity to see how community feedback helped shape the conceptual designs for Founders Plaza and the Community Center park, with interactive displays and holiday festivities.
The Town encourages residents, families, youth, seniors and community organizations to participate. Every idea and perspective helps build a stronger shared vision for Yucca Valley’s public spaces.
