Prepare for delays on SR-247 near Lucerne Valley
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) continues the $2.4 million roadway preservation project on State Route 247 (SR-247) in Lucerne Valley. This project will take place on SR-247 between Camp Rock Road and Valley Vista Road. Work will include seal coating, replacement of asphalt concrete (AC) surfacing, crack sealing, and roadway striping. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday, with tentatively expected to be completed by fall 2026.
Construction activities are expected to take place Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. During construction, motorists can expect intermittent traffic closures and oneway traffic control through the work zone.
One lane will remain open to traffic. Two pilot vehicles will escort motorists through the construction area, guiding traffic from one point to the next. Motorists should anticipate wait times of up to 15 minutes and are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
