One person dead after car and wheelchair collision in Yucca Valley

A car struck and killed a pedestrian in a wheelchair on Yucca Trail in Yucca Valley on Thursday (11/6).

San Bernardino County Fire says they responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and confirmed that one person was found dead.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said that the pedestrian was in a wheelchair travelling near the intersection of Yucca Trail and Frontera Avenue. Deputies said that a vehicle swerved to avoid the pedestrian in the wheelchair, and the next vehicle struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity of the victim has not yet been released as law enforcement is attempting to notify the next of kin.
