The westbound right lane on Highway 62 in front of Stater Brothers finally reopened at the end of September. But now the City Council is considering the approval of phase two of the project.

It calls for curbs, gutters, and sidewalks on the north side between Encelia and Larrea Avenues. It also would extend the median in front of the shopping center to Larrea Ave. If approved, it will include widening of the north side of Highway 62 and a pedestrian bridge over the Twentynine Palms wash. The cost will be covered by the San Bernardino County Transit Authority.

The City Council will also consider approval of a few financial orders of business, including the quarter one Treasurer’s report and two city warrant registers totaling over $1.4 million. It will also present to the high school volleyball and soccer teams for participating in the Cash for Trash Recycling Program and to service members who helped in the Aug. 21 house fire.

The meeting is open to the public, and you are invited to make public comments on any topic related to the City Council.
