MUSD continues free breakfast and lunch for all students in 2026-27 school year

As part of the first week of the new school year, the Morongo Unified School District has announced it will be continuing its free lunch policy. The district has been serving free meals to all students under the National School Lunch / School Breakfast Programs for the 2026-2027 school year. 

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946.

The policy is in effect at all Morongo Unified School District campuses, and all students are eligible to receive a free breakfast and lunch.
