Mil-Tree’s “Art of War” submission deadline is Monday (9/8)

The deadline for Mil-Tree’s fifth iteration of “The Art of War” is coming up on Monday, September 8th.
This collaborative exhibition will pair the work of veteran and active-duty military writers with responses from civilian visual artists, fostering a powerful conversation between written word and visual expression.
You have until Monday to finish up your short work or excerpt from a longer piece related to military service. Submissions may be considered for live readings during the exhibition’s opening, with readings limited to 3–4 minutes.
Visual artists are invited to send a link to a website or a PDF portfolio of their work. Selected artists will be paired with an accepted written work and will create a visual work in direct response.
You can submit your works to info@mil-tree.org – otifications of acceptance will be issued by September 15.
Assigned visual responses must be delivered to the Hi-Desert Artists Gallery in Yucca Valley by December 1.
The exhibition will feature 8–10 artists and will be on view at the Hi-Desert Artists Gallery Annex in Yucca Valley from December 6–30. Due to the size of the gallery annex, certain artwork dimensions may be restricted.
