
Local curator and BoxoPROJECTS founder Bernard Leibov to speak Thursday evening (May 21) at Hi-Desert Artists
Mediated by local artist Ted Meyer in the Hi-Desert Arists gallery, the free public conversation will explore Leibov’s work fostering contemporary art in the Hi-Desert and beyond, including his experiences developing artist residencies, exhibitions, installations, and community-centered programming through BoxoPROJECTS in Joshua Tree. Founded in 2009, BoxoPROJECTS supports artists through residencies at BoxoHOUSE as well as exhibitions, performances, and collaborative projects that examine the relationship between art, place, and community.
Leibov is also co-founder and co-curator of the Joshua Treenial, a recurring Hi-Desert arts program featuring site-specific installations, performances, exhibitions, and community events across Joshua Tree and surrounding areas.
The free talk is happening at 6:00 p.m at Hi-Desert Artists Gallery is located at 55635 29 Palms Highway, in Yucca Valley.
