Investigation into elder abuse results in arrest of Morongo Valley man

A Morongo Valley man was arrested on suspicion of elder abuse after attacking a family member with their own cane.

On Monday (April 20) at around 4:00 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 49000 block of Tamarisk Drive in Morongo Valley for a report of elder abuse. Deputies say the victim was attacked with their own walking cane. Deputies identified the suspect as Thomas White, 50, and say he is a relative of the victim. The victim declined medical attention. White was taken into custody at the scene.

Thomas White was arrested for investigation of two counts of elderly abuse and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $330,000 bail.
