Yucca Valley Man who allegedly supplied overdose victim with drugs arrested and charged with murder
On Sunday, May 18 just after 4:00 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station responded to a call for medical aid in the 57090 block of Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley. David Tarbell, 63, was located at the scene and responding deputies believed he had died from a drug overdose. The Sheriff’s Overdose Response Team (ORT) took over the investigation and identified Yucca Valley resident Tyler Lee Davis, 31, as the man suspected of supplying the drugs to the victim.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Division determined that Yucca Valley resident David Tarbell’s cause of death was due to an overdose of Fentanyl and Alprazolam. Alprazolam is a prescription drug that is often used to manage panic and anxiety disorders, and is often sold under the brand name “Xanax.”
According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, Tyler Lee Davis has prior convictions for narcotics sales and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. On Wednesday (7/23), Tyler Lee Davis was arrested for suspicion of supplying drugs. The District Attorney’s Office reviewed the deputy report and charged Davis with murder.
He is currently being held at the West Valley Detention Center with bail set at one million dollars.
