Yucca Valley man released on 7/10 arrested six days later for suspected assault
A man out of jail and facing charges of domestic violence was arrested again on suspicion of beating another man with a baseball bat.
On July 4, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s responded to a report of domestic violence and robbery in the 56000 block of Sunland Drive in Yucca Valley. Deputies identified the suspect as Brandon Edwards, 52, a resident of the home. They say he forcibly grabbed the victim’s arm and took her purse. Deputies arrived and took Edwards into custody. The victim declined medical treatment.
Edwards was arraigned in San Bernardino County Superior Court on July 7, and the Court ordered his release on July 10. County records indicate that Edwards is still facing felony charges of domestic violence and robbery, along with a separate misdemeanor charge related to a DUI incident in June.
On Thursday, July 16, at 5:18 p.m., deputies responded to a report of assault with a deadly weapon in the same home on Sunland Drive in Yucca Valley. A neighbor witnessed the incident and called 911. Deputies say Edwards struck his male roommate with a baseball bat several times. The victim declined medical treatment. Deputies took Edwards into custody.
Brandon Edwards was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $40,000.
