
Yucca Valley man arrested for alleged domestic violence and carjacking in restaurant parking lot
A man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and carjacking after allegedly hitting and choking his victim in the parking lot of a Yucca Valley business.
On Wednesday (April 15) at approximately 1:15 p.m., Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a situation in the Applebee’s parking lot, located in the 57700 block of Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley.
Deputies say that a bystander called law enforcement after witnessing a domestic disturbance involving Kessler Cosby, 23. The sheriff’s department says that Cosby hit and choked the victim in the parking lot, after which he attempted to take a vehicle belonging to the victim. Deputies say that the victim did not receive treatment at the scene, and any further treatment is unknown to law enforcement. Deputies arrested Cosby at the scene.
Kessler Cosby was arrested on suspicion of two counts of corporal injury of a spouse or cohabitant, and one count of attempted carjacking.
He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $50,000 bail.
