Wonder Valley man arrested for investigation into false imprisonment and assault

A man out on bail was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, and making threats in Wonder Valley. 

On Saturday (August 22) at around 11:36 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call near the intersection of Amboy Road and Cactus Jack Road in Wonder Valley. The victim told the Sheriff’s Department that she was not allowed to leave a mobile home. 

Deputies say they arrived to find the victim bruised, and treated at the scene for injuries. They said she was in a dating relationship with the suspect, identified as Gilbert Gonzalez, Jr., 37. Gonzalez was found to be out on bail after an arrest related to a domestic violence incident in February, and has previously been convicted of violent felonies.

Gilbert Gonzalez, Jr was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, and making criminal threats. He is also facing charges related to violating a court order to prevent domestic violence. He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $380,000 bail.
