Woman allegedly fires gun into the air to scare dirt bike riders, gets arrested

After allegedly firing a gun into the air to frighten dirt bike riders, a Yucca Valley woman was arrested for investigation into child abuse and possession of a controlled substance.

On Saturday (October 10) at 1:17 p.m., deputies responded to a report of dirt bike riders in the 6900 block of Lennox Avenue in Yucca Valley. Deputies arrived and contacted Natalie Simpson, 25, at her home. Deputies say that Simpson fired one round from her handgun into the air to scare the dirt bike riders. Natalie Simpson was arrested on suspicion of the negligent discharge of a firearm, child abuse, and possession of a controlled substance while armed. She was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and has since been released on bail.
