
Twentynine Palms Varsity baseball wins over Coachella on Friday (5/1)
The Twentynine Palms High School Varsity Wildcats baseball team topped Coachella Valley 5-3 on Friday (May 1).
A single by Mauricio Montada extended the Wildcats lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
Twentynine Palms took the lead, 5-3, in the bottom of the sixth thanks to singles by Anthony Gabriel Jr. and Anthony Escandon.
Anthony Escandon earned the win for the Wildcats Varsity Baseball. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking two. Eduardo Avalos tossed three innings of zero-run ball for Twentynine Palms in relief.
Twentynine Palms Wildcats collected 13 hits in the game. Cayden Lenio led the team with 3 hits. Raul Ginez, Mauricio Montada, Bubba Corney, Anthony Gabriel Jr. and Anthony Escandon each collected multiple hits for the Wildcats. Twentynine Palms turned three double plays in the game.
Twentynine Palms Varsity Wildcats will travel to Yucca Valley for their next game on Monday (May 4).
