Twentynine Palms Planning Commission looking to update City’s General Plan
In the first of a series of study sessions, the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will consider the introduction to the General Plan update.
The General Plan for the City of Twentynine Palms is a future projection for economic growth and development while maintaining the small-town feel of the City. Many of the general plan components rely heavily on the Land Use Plan and should reflect achievable long term development goals.
Twentynine Palms City staff has developed 5 goals and is suggesting that the Land Use plan be studied first. For instance, land use designations should reflect current lot sizes and actual developments. Existing land use districts could be consolidated and new districts may be developed. Historical and environmental factors would also be considered while developing a land use element.
Staff is simply asking for feedback at this time; direction is not required.
The meeting will take place at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms and begins at 5:00 p.m.
