Twentynine Palms Planning Commission agenda: 30-unit “3D printed” resort on Amboy Road, smog station at 62 and Adobe

The Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will hold their bi-monthly regular meeting on Tuesday October 21st at 5:00 p.m.

On the agenda:

A Public hearing will be held regarding the development of a 30-unit project on a 10-acre parcel on Amboy road in Twentynine Palms. Western Home Builders submitted an application on behalf of Azure printed homes, for the development of a resort containing thirty 3D-printed units. The property is located approximately half a mile east of Adobe road and has a general plan and zoning designation of commercial tourist on the south half of the property and residential single family on the northern half. The project is proposed to comprise thirty-200 square foot units, two community buildings, a covered patio and a pool and spa area. The parking lot would be located on the south side of the property and the units and interior of the resort would all be within walking distance on ADA accessible paths.

City staff is requesting clarification from the Planning commission as to whether a smog check station should be classified as “auto repair – minor” and thus prohibited per the downtown general land use district. In which case, the Community development director could determine that the smog check facility would not be allowed on the proposed property, located on the southeast corner of Highway 62 and Adobe Road, at 73709 Twentynine Palms Highway, in Twentynine Palms.

After the Community director updates, the meeting will be adjourned.

Located at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms, the meeting is on Tuesday October 21st and begins at 5:00 p.m.

The public is encouraged to attend.
