Save the Date: School supply giveaway this Saturday 8/8
Wing ’n It and the Ready 4 Reading Book Club will host their 4th Annual Backpack Event on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This year, the community gathering moves to a brand-new location at 73355 Sullivan Road, Twentynine Palms, CA 92277.
The event supports local students returning to school by providing essential resources in a fun, welcoming environment. Attendees will enjoy free food, clothing, music, hair braiding, and hairline edge-ups. School supplies and backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Children planning to get their hair braided should arrive with their hair washed and ready for a variety of colorful, creative, and simple braid designs.
Donations and Volunteers needed
Community donations are vital to the success of this event. The organization is currently seeking:
- Backpacks
- Pens and pencils
- Notebooks and loose-leaf paper
- Miscellaneous school supplies
