Twentynine Palms Ladycats Volleyball win on Desert Mirage Rams’ home turf

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats volleyball teams traveled to Desert Mirage Wednesday night (October 7) to take on the Rams and both teams won.
JV won 25-15 and 25-16. Havanna Horta put down four kills and served up four ace serves. Willa Cowgill put down three kills and served up four aces. Gena Bilderain put down one kill and four ace serves. Chessa Robinson had two kills, one ace serve and 11 assists for the ‘cats.
In varsity action, the cats won 25-2, 25-12, and 25-6. In the first set, Senior Alexis Archuleta, served 20 times in a row with 13 serves being aces. In the third set, Alexis served 12 times in a row with seven of them being aces. That’s a total of 32 serves, with 20 of them being aces and she had six assists. Sophomore Tallulah Coleman put down seven kills and had one block. Senior Vivian Grunt served up four ace serves and had one kill. Senior Berlyn McCormick put down three kills and served up one ace serve.
The Ladycats are now 7-1 in league and travel to the Eagles of Desert Hot Springs on Monday (October 12).
