Theatre 29 will hold auditions for its holiday production of “Little Women, The Broadway Musical”, based on the beloved novel by Louisa May Alcott, with book by Allan Knee, lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, and music by Jason Howland. “Little Women” follows the March sisters Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy as they come of age in Civil War-era New England, navigating first love, ambition, loss, and the ties that hold their family together. The musical has drawn audiences for generations with its heartfelt score and its portrait of sisterhood and resilience. Auditions will be held Monday, October 12, at 6:00 p.m. at Theatre 29 in Twentynine Palms.

As Director Lisa Hodgson, says,“We want to see a wide range of people at these auditions, whether you have performed with us before or have never auditioned anywhere in your life, we would love to see you. This story is built on strong, distinct characters and real relationships, and we are looking for people who want to help bring that to the stage.”

All roles are open except for the part of Laurie Laurence, which has been pre-cast.

Those auditioning should come prepared to sing a song from the show or another Broadway show that is similar, perform cold readings from the script, and learn and perform a short dance combination. Auditioners should wear clothing and close toed footwear that are comfortable to move in. The production also welcomes those interested in helping backstage, including set construction, props, and other areas of technical production.

Performances are scheduled for December 4 through 20, 2026.
