Twentynine Palms Highway will get electronic traffic condition signs installed this Fall

An electronic, changeable message sign is being installed on Twentynine Palms Highway in Joshua Tree. The California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) says that the sign will provide current information about traffic conditions. Additional signs will be placed at the top of the westbound lanes on the top of the Yucca grade and westbound in Joshua Tree near the border of Yucca Valley, and eastbound on the eastside of Twentynine Palms.

CalTrans says that work, including paving and the installation of signage, will be complete by late fall 2025.
