Trespassing and vandalism call leads to arrest of sex offender on parole in Yucca Valley

A convicted sex offender on probation was arrested on suspicion of failing to register as part of a trespassing investigation.

On Tuesday (August 4) at 1:15 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of trespassing and vandalism at a vacant home near Santa Fe Trail in Yucca Valley. During their investigation, deputies contacted a suspect they identified as Donald Oday, a 70 year-old transient. Oday was found to be a registered sex offender, and deputies determined he had failed to register with the state of California. They also found Oday had an active warrant for violating post-release community supervision. Oday was taken into custody at the scene.

Donal Oday was arrested on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender and violating parole. He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center without bail.
