Twentynine Historical Society named Grand Marshal on 90th Annual Palms Pioneer Day
The City of Twentynine Palms announced that the Official Grand Marshal of the 90th Annual Pioneer Days will be Twentynine Palms Historical Society.
The theme of this year’s Pioneer Days is βA Century in the Making: Celebrating 100 Years of the Old Schoolhouse.β Organizers say that the selection of the Twentynine Palms Historical Society as Grand Marshal is especially meaningful during a year dedicated to celebrating the Old Schoolhouse and its place in the communityβs history. For decades, the Historical Society has worked to preserve, interpret, and share the rich history of Twentynine Palms and the greater Morongo Basin.
Founded on April 26, 1982, by five individuals who recognized the importance of preserving the communityβs history, the Twentynine Palms Historical Society has continued that mission for more than four decades. The nonprofit educational organization collects, preserves, and displays historical information, artifacts, and memorabilia while making research materials available to the public.
This yearβs Pioneer Days celebration takes place October 15β18. Stay tuned for more details.
