“Steel Magnolias” opens at Theatre 29 this Friday (5/8)

“Steel Magnolias” opens at Theatre 29 this Mother’s Day weekend.

Director Lisa Hodgson describes “Steel Magnolias” as more than just a play; it is a profound celebration of the “delicate as a flower, strong as steel” spirit that defines the bonds of womanhood. In the sanctuary of Truvy’s beauty shop, we witness the power of a community that laughs through the tears and holds one another up when the world feels heavy. It serves as a beautiful reminder that while life is fragile, the friendships we forge are unbreakable.

The Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Club is sponsoring a special opening night gala this Friday (May 8). The evening’s festivities will include a decorative hat contest, a trivia Contest with prizes, Silent auction items, a 50/50 raffle, Cocktails, live auction of a Mother’s Day Motherlode basket, and a menu of southern delights.

Tickets are available at theatre29.org or by calling the Theatre 29 box office at 760-361-4151.

The show will run weekends May 8 – 24 with performances at 7:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday with Sunday matinees at 2:30.
