Spooktacular Carnival and Car Show creeps into Hi-Desert Nature Museum this Saturday (10/24)

Hosted by the Hi-Desert Nature Museum and Town of Yucca Valley Recreation Department everyone is invited to Saturday’s (October 24) Halloween Spooktacular!

The event will be a haunted highway of family-friendly fun, featuring carnival games, a pumpkin patch with pumpkin painting, car-themed crafts and a glow room where children can make glow-in-the-dark bracelets. Guests can watch the Rusty Nutz roll into the Route 66-inspired car show and enjoy two spellbinding magic shows by Magic of Murdock at 12:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Visitors can strike a pose and capture memories at the free photo booth, while Z107.7’s Cody Joseph keeps the excitement rolling with a live broadcast throughout the event.

Families are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes and join the ghoulishly glamorous costume contest. Categories include Best Themed—Car/Route 66 or Carnival, Funniest, Most Original, and Best in Show. Registration will take place from noon. to 2:30 p.m. in the courtyard outside the Yucca Room. Space is limited, and judging will begin at 3:15 p.m. This is an all-ages, family-friendly event; inappropriate or gory costumes are not permitted.

For additional costume contest information, including age groups and rules, please visit www.hidesertnaturemuseum.org.

The first 300 children will receive free corn dogs from J.T. Desert Drifters and Kona Ice to enjoy during the event.
