Six counts of attempted murder for 19-year old suspected of shooting at car

A 19 year-old is facing six counts of attempted murder after allegedly shooting into a car in October.

On October 18, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted an investigation into a shooting near the 4000 block of Old Woman Springs Road, just south of Pipes Canyon Road in Yucca Valley. Deputies say that the suspect shot into an occupied vehicle. There were six people in the vehicle, and deputies said no one was injured. No arrests were made at that time.

As part of their investigation, the Sheriff’s Department identified a suspect in the shooting as Gage James, 19. Deputies contacted James at his home on Monday, November 3, at around 9:15 p.m. and took him into custody. The Sheriff’s Department says their investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

James is currently out on bail on charges related to running a chop shop and receiving stolen vehicles.

Gage James was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $7,200,000 bail. Gage James is facing six counts of attempted murder, with enhancements for using a firearm and committing a crime while on bail.
