Mojave Noir returns tonight (11/7) to Old Schoolhouse Museum

On Friday night, Mil-Tree’s MOJAVE NOIR returns to the 29 Palms Book Festival at 7:00 p.m. at the Old Schoolhouse Museum in Twentynine Palms. Now in its fifth year, this fundraising reading series gathers military veterans and civilian crime writers to read bleak noir stories accompanied by live music to benefit Mil-Tree, our local veteran outreach organization.
Hosted by author and Z107.7 reporter Gabriel Hart, this year’s lineup includes crime fiction writer Renee Pickup; veteran and Mil-Tree President Patrick Wallis; Mojave Crime short story writer Ben Goulet; and Duncan Birmingham, writer and director of the acclaimed 2022 horror film Who Invited Them?
Atmospheric musical accompaniment by local musician/sculptor Ron Therrio on lap steel guitar. A $10 donation is requested to keep Mil-Tree alive and able to continue this sort of programming; however, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
It’s all happening at the Old Schoolhouse Museum in Twentynine Palms, located at 6760 National Park Dr. For more information, visit mil-tree.org
