Sheriff’s DUI enforcement results in 1 arrest, 55 citations

A DUI enforcement period in Twentynine Palms resulted in one arrest and 55 citations.
On Friday (September 5) deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station conducted a DUI enforcement operation in Twentynine Palms to promote traffic safety and remove impaired drivers from the road.
During the operation, deputies say they contacted over 60 drivers for various traffic violations. As a result of those efforts, 55 citations were issued and one person was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI).
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department says that enforcement operations are a vital part of ongoing efforts to reduce impaired driving and keep our roadways safe.
Drivers are reminded to always drive sober and to plan ahead with a designated driver or ride service if they plan to consume alcohol or other substances that may impair their ability to drive.
