Prepare for a downpour today to avoid holiday hassles during the rain
December 24th and 25th are going to be busy days even if you don’t celebrate Christmas. A flood watch and heavy rain is forecast beginning on Wednesday meaning it’s smart to begin preparations today as many businesses may be closed or full of last minute holiday shoppers.
Windshield wipers take a beating in the hi-desert, with minimal use during most of the year and then a surprise monsoon or storm reminds us that we should have replaced them six-months ago. Grab a fresh pair today before the rain begins so you aren’t caught doing it in a parking lot or on the side of the road.
If you can’t make it to the store for a brand new set, you can get a few more miles out of your old ones with a hot rag and a good cleaning.
Sandbags will be available at your local San Bernardino County Fire station as well – they hand out 10 at a time for residents. A flood watch will be in effect beginning at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, so start thinking about keeping the water out today.
