An Oroville man was arrested last Wednesday (November 24), after trying to steal from a Yucca Valley business and assaulting a concerned citizen. According to Sheriff logs, deputies responded to a call on the 57500 block of Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley for a report of a suspect trying to steal from a business and knocking out another customer at the business who confronted him about stealing. The suspect, identified as Ricco Thompson, 22, was located by responding deputies and taken into custody for investigation of battery with serious bodily injury, causing injury to an elder or dependent adult, burglary, and resisting an officer. Ricco Thompson was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $100,000.
