One acre vegetation fire in Yucca Valley extinguished in minutes, fireworks are suspected cause
A one acre vegetation fire burned in Yucca Valley last night (7/23).
At around 9:25 p.m. San Bernardino County Fire responded to a report of a vegetation fire near the intersection of Golden Bee Drive and Elk Trail in Yucca Valley. Crews said that smoke and fire were visible from the site, and though the fire had the potential to grow up to four acres and threatened a home it was extinguished by 9:30 p.m. at only one acre.
San Bernardino County Fire said that the reporting party heard a loud popping noise and saw several people run from the fire after it started, information that suggests the fire was started by fireworks.
