A missing man was found dead in Yucca Valley and his roommate has been arrested for investigation into murder in Oregon.

On July 3, San Bernardino County Sherrif’s deputies responded to a missing person report in Yucca Valley. The missing person was identified as Daniel Joslin, a 61 year-old resident of Yucca Valley.

Deputies said Joslin had not been seen or contacted by family or friends for about ten days. Investigators received information Joslin might have intended to travel to Oregon, but no evidence has been found to confirm he traveled there and his whereabouts remain unknown.

On July 29, detectives served a search warrant at Joslin’s home in the 58000 block of Carlyle Drive in Yucca Valley. Detectives say that Joslin shared the home with a roommate, Cris Jones, 60. Detectives identified Jones as a suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Sunday (August 2), Jones was located in Clackamas County, Oregon. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Department took Jones into custody. Jones is expected to be extradited to San Bernardino County to face murder charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
