Nine shelter dogs from Palms-N-Paws to be flown to east coast

Nine stray dogs from Twentynine Palms will have a new chance at a stable home life when they are flown to the east coast Saturday morning (July 19). The dogs are currently residing at Palms-N-Paws and the move is part of the Wings of Rescue program with support from the San Diego Humane Society.

Wings of Rescue is a group of volunteer pilots who transport at-risk dogs and cats from kill shelters to no-kill shelters. As Palms-n-Paws continues to partner with outside organizations and shelters in their effort to achieve no-kill status, Wings of Rescue will take these nine dogs to less-populated shelters in New York and Maine.

Rick Boyd is the Animal Control Manager for Twentynine Palms and he praised the effort, saying โ€œThis is the kind of collaboration that reminds us of whatโ€™s possible when a community truly comes together for animals.”

The nine dogs will be flown from Riverside on Saturday morning, and Z107.7 wishes them a safe and happy journey with several in-flight treats.

There’s still plenty of dogs and cats at the Palms-n-Paws animal shelter looking for local families. You can meet their animals Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. They are located at 7086 Bullion Avenue in Twentynine Palms
