
Man arrested for suspected DUI runs from Morongo Basin Jail during booking
A man arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) is accused of trying to escape the Morongo Basin Jail.
On Monday (April 27) at 2:30 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies contacted a man sleeping in his car at the Circle K on Old Woman Springs Road in Yucca Valley. Deputies identified the driver as Landon Quintana, 30, and said he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Deputies took Quintana into custody on suspicion of DUI.
Quintana was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail. Deputies say that after being booked and inside of the jail, they found him to be in possession of narcotics. They say that when Quintana was walking from the holding cell, he ran into the intake yard just outside of the jail and attempted to flee. Deputies took Quintana back into custody and returned him to holding.
Landon Quintana was arrested on suspicion of DUI, attempting to bring controlled substances into jail, and attempting to escape from prison. He has been released on bail.
