Joshua Tree Elementary earns recognition for school’s photography program
Joshua Tree Elementary School is proud to announce that its 3rd Quarter OWL Time Photography Enrichment Group has earned statewide recognition in the Inspire Young Minds Photography Competition hosted by the California Milk Processor Board.
Out of submissions from students across California, the competition selected one elementary school winner and one high school winner. Joshua Tree Elementary School was named the statewide elementary school winner, recognizing the creativity, talent and unique perspectives of its student photographers.
The award includes a $5,000 grant to support and expand programs like the school’s photography enrichment opportunities.
OWL stands for Opportunity, Wonder and Learning.
Led by Ms. Stokes, the program teaches students to use photography as a tool for storytelling, emotional expression and creative exploration.
