Illegal parking near Yucca Valley High School results in foot chase and arrest
An unlicensed driver allegedly fled on foot from deputies after parking illegally at Yucca Valley High School.
On Tuesday (August 26) at around 11:00 a.m., a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputy assigned to Yucca Valley High School as a School Resource Officer contacted a driver parked in a red zone near the school. The driver was identified as Rolando Hernandez-Montes, 19, who doesn’t possess a driver’s license. The deputy said that Hernandez-Montes refused to follow commands and the officer attempted to detain him. Rolando Hernandez-Montes then fled on foot for a short chase near the high school, where he was eventually apprehended and taken into custody.
Rolando Hernandez-Montes was arrested on suspicion of obstructing arrest and has since been released on bail.
