Felon arrested for suspected domestic violence and discharging a firearm
A man recently released from jail was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and discharging a firearm in Yucca Valley.
On Tuesday (July 21) at around 9:30 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of domestic violence in the 57000 block of Belmont Street in Yucca Valley. A witness called 911 to report the suspected attack. Deputies said that Luis Carcamo, a 36 year-old convicted felon with active warrants, punched a woman in the face at the home. The woman was transported to a hospital for treatment. Carcamo was taken into custody at the scene.
Deputies say that they are investigating allegations that Carcamo fired a rifle during the incident, though no one was hit by gunfire. Deputies recovered a rifle from the home.
In September 2025, Carcamo was arrested at the same home on suspicion of striking two teenage boys and a dog. He pled not guilty to felony charges related to child abuse and animal cruelty. He was released from jail on April 29.
Luis Carcamo was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and being a felon in possession of weapons and ammunition. He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $500,000 bail.
