Fatal collision on Old Woman Springs Road involves BLM patrol vehicle

A fatal collision occurred on Old Woman Springs Road involving a marked Bureau of Land Management vehicle.

On Thursday (February 5) at around 1:00 a.m, the California Highway Patrol reports that a vehicle broke down on the northbound shoulder of Old Woman Springs Road, just south of Ghost Road near Landers. The CHP says that a man associated with the vehicle was crossing the highway when he was struck by a marked Bureau of Land Management patrol vehicle. The collision occurred in the southbound lane of traffic. The pedestrian suffered from fatal injuries. The male driver of the BLM vehicle sustained moderate injuries.

The name of the deceased has not yet been released by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.
