Earth Day Celebration this Saturday at Hi-Desert Nature Museum

The Hi-Desert Nature Museum invites the community to an Earth Day Celebration. This free, family-friendly event dedicated to environmental stewardship, hands-on learning, creative expression and an appreciation for the natural beauty of the Morongo Basin and beyond. It will feature local non-profit conservation organizations, interactive activities and art projects, live music and a succulent giveaway so attendees can take home and care for a little piece of the planet.

Participating organizations include Joshua Tree National Park, the Living Desert, Plant Parenthood, Burrtec Waste Management and Hi-Desert Water District.

Diana Shay Diehl of Mojave Light Studios will be teaching how to paint with the shadows of natural materials like leaves, flowers and feathers using the photographic medium of cyanotype.

Local music group Daytime Moon will also perform.

The Town of Yucca Valley’s Earth Day Celebration is happening Saturday (April 25) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum, located at 57090 Twentynine Palms Highway.
