Dirt bike versus car collision in Yucca Valley sends two riders to the hospital

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that at 1:48 p.m. on Saturday (9/20) a dirt bike crossed Aberdeen Drive from a dirt trail south of the roadway near Balsa Avenue.

The bike was allegedly operated by an underage rider who was carrying an 18 year-old passenger. The CHP says that the 2002 Honda dirt bike drove into the path of a gray 2019 Cadillac XT5, “violating its right of way” and causing a collision. Both dirt bike riders were ejected from the bike.

Both dirt bike riders were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center; the operator sustained suspected minor injuries, and the passenger sustained major, but non-life-threatening injuries. The location of this crash is a prohibited area for off-highway-vehicle use.

The CHP did not say if any arrests had been made.
