Desert Bingo is raising funds for local ambulance non-profit tonight at Red Dog Saloon (8/10)

Tonight at Desert Bingo, they’ll be fundraising for Morongo Basin Ambulance. The hi-desert’s wholly unique BINGO experience has so far raised nearly $6,000 for the non-profit ambulance company and they are working toward raising money for a new a generator.

Desert Bingo host Karma joined Jef Harmatz during the Up Close Show on Friday where she talked about the money they raise for non-profits like Morongo Basin Ambulance.

“We average around $1,000 per event, which is a significant amount of money. But for organizations like (Morongo Basin) ambulance, for instance, that’s a drop in the bucket of what they need. But it adds up. Today we’ve almost raised $6,000 for them.

“So for the ambulance, for instance, we are paying for a $10,000 generator that they need that’ll kick in when we have power outages or anything like that that allows the service to continue and when they’ve got to choose between buying equipment for an ambulance to save lives or getting a generator that helps them stay functional… they’re going to choose the ‘save lives’ component. So this is great that they earmark the money to do that.”

It all starts at 6:30 – follow @desertbingo on Instagram for more details.
