Countywide sex trade sting leads to 29 arrests

A two-day, countywide sex-trade customer sting operation led to 29 arrests.

On Tuesday (October 27) and Wednesday (October 28), the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department conducted “Operation No Tricks.” They say the operation focused on rescuing victims of sexual slavery, identifying and arresting their captors, and disrupting the demand for these vulnerable victims by targeting their customers.

Over the two days, investigators arrested 29 individuals for solicitation of prostitution and an individual for Pandering. Additionally, investigators rescued three victims of human trafficking who were provided services and resources.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department says they are identifying victims of human trafficking and making efforts to rescue them from sexual exploitation. As part of that plan, they want to hold sex buyers accountable for their role in exploiting these individuals operating within San Bernardino County.

The Sheriff’s Department said that none of the arrests occurred in the Morongo Basin. However, anyone wishing to report activities related to human trafficking to the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force can do so directly by calling (909) 387-8400 or by email at humantrafficking@sbcsd.org.
