County mosquito and pest control public presentation at Hi-Desert Nature Museum on Saturday (10/17)
Although mosquito season may be coming to an end, a forecast of a milder winter means residents should stay vigilant about controlling breeding sites year-round. The Hi-Desert Nature Museum is hosting a free public presentation that aims to raise awareness on the risks mosquitoes and other vectors pose and proactive steps one can take to reduce pest populations and protect our community.
On Saturday, October 18 at 11:00 a.m., the Hi-Desert Nature Museum will host representatives from the San Bernardino County Mosquito and Vector Control Program who aim to equip residents with the knowledge to reduce vector populations and safeguard the community from discomfort and disease. This presentation will highlight the conditions that allow mosquitoes to thrive in arid desert conditions, the diseases they can spread, practical prevention tips for homes and neighborhoods and updates on current monitoring efforts in the Morongo Basin and neighboring regions.
