Condor Elementary employee arrested in child sexual abuse investigation

Update: An earlier version of this story stated that Carrillo was being held on $1,000,000 bail. We’ve updated this information based off of booking records, which states his bail is set at $500,000.

An instructional assistant assigned to Condor Elementary School has been arrested for investigation into reported sexual abuse of a developmentally disabled student under the age of 14.

Isaac Elias Carrillo, 28, is a resident of Twentynine Palms and was arrested on July 1, 2026 and is currently being held on $500,000 bail.

On May 13, 2026, the Oceanside Police Department contacted the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station with a report of sexual abuse to a child while they attended Condor Elementary School in Twentynine Palms. The victim is developmentally disabled and under the age of 14, and said that the abuse occurred during school hours.

School Resource Officer Deputy Stumbo and Detective Winegar of the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division, Crimes Against Children Detail, conducted a joint investigation into the allegations. During the investigation, detectives identified Isaac Elias Carrillo as the suspect.

The Sheriff’s Department says that Carrillo has been employed by the Morongo Unified School District since 2018 and has worked at multiple school sites throughout the Morongo Basin.  His most recent assignment involved serving as a one-on-one instructional assistant for developmentally disabled students.
