CAMPERS ROBBED OF THEIR CAR AT TASER POINT

A couple staying in a tent near Sunfair and Cypress Roads in Joshua Tree were robbed at Taser point early Friday morning. After a 5:30 a.m. 9-1-1 call, the victims told responding deputies they were in their tent when an unknown man and woman arrived on foot. The man held them by pointing a Taser at them while demanded the keys to their car. The woman rummaged through the car and found the keys. The victims were not harmed, the robbers took all their food and the car and fled northbound on Sunfair. Some investigative leads were recovered, and the investigation is ongoing.
