Brother and sister arrested for investigation into break-in and assault in Yucca Valley

Two people were arrested after allegedly breaking into a Yucca Valley woman’s home and attacking her.

On Monday evening (December 15), San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report on an attack in the 7000 block of Mohawk Trail in Yucca Valley. Deputies say two suspects broke into the home and attacked the female resident. Deputies identified the suspects as Kiyara Hamlin, 22, and Iszell Lewis, 26. Deputies said that Hamlin and Lewis are sister and brother, and that Lewis was in a dating relationship with the victim. Deputies say that Hamlin kicked the victim in the head numerous times, and Lewis threw a shelf, hitting the victim’s head. When deputies arrived, they found Lewis and took him into custody. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment for her injuries.

Several hours later, deputies located Hamlin at her home in 9000 block of Ole Street in Morongo Valley, where she was taken into custody.

Iszell Lewis was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, burglary, and for violating terms of probation, and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center without bail. Kiyara Hamlin was arrested on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury and burglary and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $250,000
