Barricades Go Up at Covington Park

A number of bright orange barricades have been placed at the overflow parking at Covington Park in Morongo Valley, if you’re wondering what’s keeping you from parking under the shade of the Tamerisk trees there.

Keeping to their promise from last week’s board meeting, Morongo Valley Community Service District Board and the Morongo Valley fire department have closed off emergency areas of Covington Park’s falling branches. Unable to reach an agreement on two quotes from local arborists, the Board opted to barricade the troubled spots in the meantime in the interest of immediate public safety.

Covington Park’s regular parking lot on its northside remains open for use in the duration.
